    Sarah Rothwell, LMSW

Sarah considers it a privilege to be given the opportunity to walk alongside families, children and adolescents on the road toward healing. She desires to meet clients, no matter where they are on their journey, and create a comfortable and safe environment where they feel heard and understood. She believes that sessions should be fun and engaging, while also challenging kids and caregivers to try something new or think of things in a new way.

Sarah received her Master of Social Work degree from The University of Denver and has extensive experience working within the child welfare system. She especially has a passion for working with children in foster care and children who have been adopted, understanding that their trauma and grief issues are complex. She believes healing is possible within the context of a supportive and loving family, and caregivers will always be included in the therapeutic process.

Sarah sees each child and family as unique and tailors the therapeutic process according to their needs. She utilizes a strengths-based, trauma-informed perspective and has specialized training in various modalities including…

    • Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
    • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
    • Integrative Attachment Trauma Protocol for Children: EMDR and Family Therapy
    • Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)
