    Kyla Schweitzer, LMSW

Kyla believes that one is never too young or too old to begin the process of healing from trauma, loss, or attachment challenges.  As a TBRI practitioner and trauma informed therapist, she uses a playful but science-based approach to join with families to understand the reasons behind difficult behaviors. With over 25 years’ experience working with children and families in addressing issues of loss and grief, transracial adoption, neurological differences, and early child development, she brings a solid and practical approach to creating connections in families.  As an adoptive parent, she brings a personal touch to her therapeutic approach.  Kyla graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters in Social Work and has further training in:

    • Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) practitioner
    • Loss and Grief
    • Collaborative Problem Solving
    • Adult attachment styles
    • ADHD counseling
    • Race, cultural, and identity issues
