Marissa Chartier, LPC
As a clinical counselor dually licensed in school counseling and mental health counseling with over 10 years of combined experience, Marissa focuses her work on supporting kids and teens through life’s challenges and transitions. Marissa works with clients experiencing concerns related to emotion regulation, self harm, family changes including adoption and divorce, and making the leap to adulthood. With younger kids, she implements play-based techniques that support safe exploration of a child’s emotional world, and with teens she applies cognitive behavioral techniques that strengthen adolescents’ emerging understanding of themselves and the world around them.
Marissa's counseling style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in faith and humor. Parents and guardians are regarded as the experts on their child's needs and partners in the therapeutic process. As a Christian counselor, she welcomes incorporating spiritual practices and Biblical values into sessions when meaningful to the client and family, while always meeting each person with grace and respect.
With experience in both school and clinical settings, Marissa seeks to understand the emotional and social pressures young people face and strives to help clients build resilience, confidence, and healthy coping skills that support lasting growth and healing.
